Ingredients
  

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • ½ cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions
 

  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add molasses and egg, mix well.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  • Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour (or overnight).
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out dough, cut into shapes, and bake for 8-10 minutes.
