Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup warm water 105 degrees Fahrenheit
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Add more if needed
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt

Instructions
 

Prepare the Dough

  • Preheat the oven to 260 °C (500 °F). Place a pizza stone in the oven during preheating and allow it to heat for at least 10 minutes.
  • Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in a large bowl and stir until well combined.
  • Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes, until it becomes frothy and bubbles form.
  • Gently fold in olive oil.
  • Add 2 cups of flour and salt, then mix with a spatula until a ball forms (the dough will still be slightly sticky). Add more flour as needed to form a dough ball.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead until smooth, adding up to ½ cup of additional flour if necessary.
  • Optional: Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let rise for 10 minutes to 1 hour.

Assemble the Pizza

  • Roll out the dough to the desired shape and place it on a sheet of parchment paper.
  • Add pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings of your choice.

Bake the Pizza

  • Use a pizza peel to transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone in the oven.
  • Bake on the preheated pizza stone for 11 to 14 minutes, or until the bottom of the crust is golden.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven using the pizza peel and place it on a rack to cool for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting and serving.

Notes

No pizza stone? You can preheat your pizza pan or baking sheet instead. Cooking will take longer without the stone. You can also prepare the dough in advance and refrigerate it until use.
